Whilst moving large wooden furniture, it is a good idea to dismantle them, if possible. Remove the desks, table legs, glass tops and bed frames. Preserve the nuts, bolts and washers safely in a plastic bag and name them. Attach the plastic bag to the underside of the furniture with a tape. Make sure to not spoil the finishing. Do each piece of furniture at a time to avoid confusion.
Take care to prevent scratches
Give them a soft padding to protect the highly polished surfaces from scratches. Extreme changes in temperatures cause splits in the wooden furniture. Hence, plan your moving accordingly to avoid extreme temperature changes. Whilst loading the furniture in the truck, avoid placing of other heavily loaded boxes on the flat surfaces.
Clear the way you will use to move the furniture
Whilst moving wooden furniture, make sure to clear the way. Remove any light fixtures in the way. Make sure that the furniture does not bang the doors or walls as it may cause dents and scratches on the surface.
