About
A local firm that would rather describe its method than its reputation
Ilford Removals moves households and small businesses across the IG postcodes — Goodmayes, Seven Kings, Gants Hill, Barking and the Woodfords — plus longer runs out of London and road removals into Europe.
Why we come and look
An instant figure comes from two postcodes and a bedroom count. It cannot know about the loft conversion, the side return, the hall width or that the road is a permit street — and in Ilford, at least one of those is true of almost every house. So the figure gets revised, usually on the morning and usually upward.
Coming to look is slower and it costs us something. It is also the only way a quote means anything, which is why there is no calculator on this site.
Why the coverage list is wider than one town
Because Barking and the Woodfords carry real work of their own and both border us. It is still a list we can stand behind rather than half of east London — and where a move belongs to somebody else's patch, our coverage page names them.
One crew, both ends
The people who come and look are the people who load it and the people who unload it. No chain of subcontractors, no handover at a depot. On a move across the borough that matters less; on a run to Yorkshire or the Algarve it matters more than anything else on this page.
The limits
We do not carry out house clearance or take rubbish away — different trade, different licence. We do not disconnect gas, plumbed or hard-wired appliances; that needs a qualified engineer. We move upright pianos and send grands to a specialist. Cars go on transporters.
The other Ilford site
Our network has a second Ilford removals site. It reads and looks nothing like this one, and neither of us pretends otherwise. If you have landed on both, read both — and ask us directly if the difference matters to you.
That is the whole pitch
Send us both addresses and a rough idea of what is coming. We will come back about having a look.
